I was very impressed that the author, Ms. Akoma Asenso-Okyere, was able to share her lived experiences in such an innovative way. The book is an easy read for all ages. The book is also very colorful, which will spark the interested of younger readers. The fact that the author was able to utilize her experiences in a positive way is very intriguing. There are many individuals, especially, children in K-12, who may be experiencing similar situations in today's society, and this book shows that confronting racism, colorism, discrimination, or any form of disrespect can be combated with love, understanding, effective communication, and self-respect. Great work, Akoma!!!!!!
